Overview

Embark on an Amboseli Mara Luxury Safari, beginning in Amboseli National Park with iconic views of Mount Kilimanjaro and herds of elephants, then venture into the renowned Maasai Mara for thrilling wildlife encounters, including the Great Wildebeest Migration. Enjoy luxurious camps, game drives, cultural experiences, and breathtaking landscapes.

6 Day Itinerary

DAY 01 – NAIROBI - AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK

Guests arrive at JKIA where they will be received by a VIP team and assist in clearing with immigrations, a Primate Tours representative will brief you on the safari details enroute to Wilson airport for local flight to Amboseli National Park, which is located in the southern part of Kenya. Also known as the Home of The African Elephant for its large herds of elephants and views of immense Mount Kilimanjaro; the highest single free-standing mountain above sea level in the world, across the border in Tanzania. The Observation Hill offers panoramas of the peak and the park’s plains and swamps. Varied wildlife includes giraffes, zebras, cheetahs and hundreds of bird species. Guests will be met by Tortilis camp, ground handlers’ team who will transfer you to the camp, which holds the title as Kenya’s first ecolodge. Guests check in, lunch and refresh. Later go for an afternoon game drive with your driver –guide, return to camp for sundowners, dinner and overnight.

DAY 02 – AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK

Rising early for good views of Mount Kilimanjaro before clouds build up over the summit with packed lunch provided, an optional visit to a Maasai village (cost given separately) can be planned after breakfast. A visit reveals the singing and dancing that are part of their sacred rituals that they still uphold to today, get a glimpse into their homes and social structure gives a poignant experience. Guests can do a game drive in the extensive 30,000-acre Kitirua conservancy, which is home to diverse animal, bird and plant species. Despite its changing habitat, Amboseli National Park is possibly the best wildlife area in the whole of Africa to experience elephant at close range. Left un-harassed by poachers, elephants feeding and bathing in the swamps must form the highlights of any Safari. DAY 03 – AMBOSELI – MASAI MARA

After breakfast, a camp guide will take you on a walking safari to enjoy the beauty of the park up close, on the foothills of Mt. Kilimanjaro where there is diverse flora and fauna. Return to camp for check out. Fly back to Wilson airport where you will take a chartered flight to Maasai Mara. Guests arrive at Mara Sand River Camp which is located on the banks of a river from which it has taken its name, in the Masai Mara National Reserve, close to the Tanzanian border. Have lunch and you can enjoy an afternoon shared game drive in the famous Maasai Mara, known for the wildebeest migration – a seven wonders of the world phenomenon where around two million families of wildebeest, zebras and other grazers cross the Mara river into Serengeti in search of pastures. Later return to the camp for Sundowners with picturesque sunset views and dinner.

DAY 04 –MASAI MARA

In the morning, guests can enjoy bush breakfast before departing to do a shared game drive in the reserve. On this day, guests get to experience full day game drives in Maasai Mara therefore, the camp will provide take away lunches that guests can enjoy while on game drive or have a picnic setup.

Guests can also do optional activities like balloon safaris with bubbly champagne breakfast or visit a Maasai village cultural tour.

DAY 5 – MAASAI MARA

Guests can engage in optional tour at an extra cost: An early-morning hot-air balloon flight inclusive of champagne-style breakfast. Else, guests take on an early morning game drive before returning to the lodge to spend the hottest hours at leisure. It is during this cool hours that it is best time to view wildlife before they retreat during the hot hours of the afternoon. Return to camp for lunch, dinner and overnight.

DAY 06 –DEPARTURE

After breakfast, guests check out of camp, for your departure flight to Nairobi arriving in the afternoon and for drop-off at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport or a city hotel.

  • We may have to reroute the itinerary or accommodate in similar lodges in case of nonavailability.
  • Prices for domestic flights, airport taxes or park fees may be changed without prior notice. This is beyond our control and any increase levied will be passed to you.

Passenger Information: 

  • Passengers should bring only soft sided bags on safaris
  • All the passengers must have Identification Card/Passport with them for internal flights  Baggage on internal flights is strictly limited to 15kgs per person (including hand luggage). 
  • Any excess baggage will be charged by the airline at check-in.
  • Passengers arriving in Kenya and Tanzania may be asked to present a valid Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS:  

Payment terms: Unless the agent/client has an approved credit facility in writing from Primate Tours (Credit facility currently not applicable), the agent/client is required to make full/deposit payment prior to final confirmation of reservations.

Payments must be made in the nominated currency (US Dollars), and conversion between USD & Kenya Shilling currency will be subject to applicable exchange rate provided by Central Bank of Kenya at the time of payment/conversion. Payments are payable to our accounts directly with details indicated in all our invoices and fiscal receipt to be provided as a proof of payment. 

Deposit requirements: We require a 30% deposit of the total value of the respective booking to confirm any service outside 90 days prior to date of arrival, any other special activities/service that require payments in full upon confirmation i.e. Flights, Gorilla permits etc, will also be paid in full at the time of confirmation.

For bookings falling between 61 – 90 days prior to the date of arrival, we require a 50% deposit to confirm the booking.

For bookings falling between 1 – 60 days prior to the date of arrival, we require a 100% deposit to confirm the booking.

Deposit; some properties may require 100% payment to confirm their bookings, we advise that you reconfirm with our reservation team at the time of booking.

Single Room Policy; All properties allow a maximum of 03 single rooms per group (Inclusive of TL room where applicable), any extra single room above this number will be charged a full double room rate, please check with our reservations team for the exact supplement amount applicable in case of a bigger number of Single rooms.

Proration; Please note that for booking that has dates crossing from one season to next succeed season will be subject to proration to establish the exact cost, always check with our reservations to reconfirm on exact cost.
