Guests arrive at JKIA where they will be received by an airport team and assisted in clearing with immigrations. Later, a Primate Tours representative will meet guests, to brief them on the safari enroute to Wilson airport for a 1hour flight to Meru. Transfer to Meru luxury mobile camp for lunch and afternoon relaxation. Afternoon game drive at Meru National Park, which features luxuriant jungle, coursing rivers, verdant swamp, khaki grasslands and gaunt termite cathedrals all under the sky’s great blue bowl. Little visited and utterly unspoilt, few places are comparable to the remote and rugged atmosphere found here. Visitors can see Grevy’s zebras, elephants, Bohor reedbucks, hartebeests, pythons, puff adders, cobras, buffalos and more than 427 recorded species of birds. Guests spend a morning and afternoon shared game drives in Meru National Park and can enjoy the game activities on offer including bird walks within the camp, hiking, sundowners, guided walks, fishing. Guests can also see the home where George and Joy Adamson lived. The waterfall named after the family is also a nice tourist attraction. The park also has a proximity to the tallest mountain in Kenya giving visitors a view of Mount Kenya and its own rhino sanctuary where guests are can spot both black and white rhinos.

After breakfast, guests are transferred to the airstrip for flight to Nanyuki Airstrip, where upon landing, you will be met by a Laikipia Wilderness Camp team and transferred to the camp in time for lunch and afternoon relation. The camp is an authentic, classic safari camp in the highlands of Kenya that offers a huge range of activities providing an adventurous experience for those who wish to do more than just look at Africa through a window. In the afternoon, guests enjoy an afternoon shared game drive. Returning to camp for dinner and overnight. On this day guests will enjoy full day game drives, here you will have high chances of seeing the big and special five animals and has excellent populations of elephant, reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebra, common zebra, warthog, buffalo, hippo and many antelope species. Lions, leopards and wild dogs are often seen. Other private activities may include bush breakfast, wild dog tracking, and guided walking safaris.

After breakfast Guests enjoy walking safari and can later take a plunge in the river for a swim or rafting (when the water levels permit). Today, guests can also enjoy bunch or a picnic in the wild. Return to camp for afternoon relaxation. At night, engage in a night game drive that can unearth striped hyena, spotted hyena, aardwolf, aardvark, zorilla, porcupine, genet, white-tailed mongoose and other small mammals. The camp has a couple of camera traps which we set up to capture wildlife at night and this can be an exciting project whilst you are staying if you run into an animal kill or a den.
